LED side bars

im thinking you have a short in the cable.

or a nick in it somewhere..

somewhere allong the cable?>>

crushed under a bolt?

slit, cut?

maybe unplug the side bars and use a multi meter to check for any short circuit?

Could well be, but I will admit defeat and get a professional to look. Many thanks again
dont give up . . .

give it another go tomorrow . . . . go have a beer and pat yourself on the back for a job-well-done . . . . sofar =]

im thinking @Deaky said somewhere about the circuit maybe permanent +12V positive and BCM switched -0v negitive . . . ?

so if thats the case then a short in the wire somewhere would explain the symptoms . .

Im not competent enough or knowledgeable enough to attempt this Im afraid. Nor am I geared up to try. I wish I was but this isn't one of my many talents.
Thanks again Del

lol . . . :mexican wave:

just flow the cable and look for damage?

if you fitted the bars yourself . . .?

then you know the cable route . . . ?

so just follow from connector to bar looking for a short. . . .

a multilmeter would help, "if you had one" to prove that there was a fault/short and help find it by looking at the short . . . then moving the loom about, until the short disappears.

I really wish I could. IF I did find anything by looking, I would then still get someone to fix it cos a hammer and wrecking bar wouldn't help.
Don’t give up @nigeltreves it sounds like you’re so close. I’ve read a lot of @Dellmassive and @Deaky ’s posts and I’m sure I read @Deaky wanted to take a box of matches to his van at some points....

i‘m about to get balls deep in my first van conversion and the support on here is amazing. Let me know if you had another go after a beer. Good luck mate.

Can I pick up on this thread?!

Can the electrics be disconnected at the side rails and / or the puddle lights removed from the bars?

I've got the same in chrome and would like to get power coated in black.... haven't tried removing yet, just assessing how much hassle to remove bars and remove electrics to go for power coating?

Cheers
