Led strip lights fitting

Ok, so I've got a shed load of 12v led strip/ ribbon lights left over from the kitchen and wondered about putting the in the van. I'm thinking in the tailgate area just to add a bit of light when loading up at night. Could I just take a feed from the light in the back or is it more complicated than that?

It's as simple as that, just needs a 12v DC supply so no driver required, you have permanent and switched supply there so you have options how you want to connect it
