replacing VW T6 transporter van rear ceiling light fittings with 12v LED light strips

On removing my headliner the rear of one light came flying off and in doing so a cooper fixing flew off (no where to be seen), I don't want to refit these instead Id like to run a longer LED strip light.
Can I just clip the wires and connect to the new 12v strip lights or is there anything I need to be aware of

I want to remove the rear ceiling light fittings in the rear of my VW T6 transporter van and replace using the same cables 2 x 100cm 12v LED strip lights
is this that simple or is there something i should be aware of?

The VW look terrible and aren't placed where in need them... do you know if I can use the current wiring to connect the new lights to

Yes you can use the exsisting cables. I spliced into mine at the ceiling and ran a cable to a switch by the back door and fitted 2 low level LED lights. Make sure you get an earth from a good point in the van, I used a stud behind one of the panels in the rear. @Deaky helped me out, I'll see if I can find some info. Its a bit easier to use some wago blocks.
