Leisure Battery Dead???

Hi guys I'm away for the bank holiday weekend and my leisure battery is showing as 10.9v after 24 hours. The only thing running from it is our dometic fridge running at half power.
Fridge was loaded up on Thursday night and van was plugged into the mains for about 15 hours. 24 hours after unplugging it and battery is reading 10.9v.
What's the chances the battery is dead? 18 months old numax lv26mf.

Has the leisure battery been charged in any way since Thursday (driving etc). If not then 3 days running a fridge will drain it significantly.

10.9 volts isn’t dead - should be able to recharge it.

Pete

Sorry Pete, crap explanation from me.
Battery put on mains charge for 15 hours on Thursday. Taken off charge 9am on Friday, drove 75 miles Friday afternoon to where we're staying. Saturday morning battery was at 10.9v and unable to power fridge.

Ok - doesn't sound good. It depends on how your leisure battery has been treated before this (has it ever been fully discharged before), and if your fridge is working properly.

Does the leisure battery get charged when you are driving ?

Pete

Yeah it ran down when my solar panel failed last month (not having much luck with electrics) it got down to 10.3v that time. It's supposed to charge when driving but not sure how much charge it's getting.
Fridge appears to be working correctly but unsure how to check.

In all likelihood, the battery is pretty damaged. Some mains chargers claim to be able to revive knackered batteries to some extent but they probably can’t work miracles.

Yeah, had everything turned off and just checked the battery again. 8.1v. Knackered.
Only place around here that'll have one is halfords or go outdoors.
Next question, get robbed by one of them and have cold beer or wait till I get home, order online, save money but have warm beer for a night?

Fridge will be working extra hard in this warm weather so may be draining the battery more than normal. Noticed mine was pretty low this morning.

Yeah, I know what you're saying, but I think it's gone down far too quickly for only 24/48 hours.

that battery is only 95Ah . . . . Numax LV26MF Sealed Leisure Battery 12V 95Ah

so you have 50% uasability . . . of 45Ah ish . . .

so in this hot weather it may have the compressor an a lot drawing 3Ah . . . . .

meaning 45ah divided by 3ah is 15hours till flat.... give yourself a margine + 9hrs.

Then that battery is flat in 24hrs... (if the compressors is running a lot)

I see what you're saying.
I was going from past experience when the weather has been hotter than it is now and the battery has easily lasted the full weekend.
If the company hurry up and send my replacement solar panel then there'd be no need for any of this.

how do you recharge it?

DC-DC?
EHU?

or just solar?

We're mostly on EHU when we go to sites, solar to keep it topped up.
That's why I put it on EHU for 15 hours before we came away to make sure it got a full charge.
