Quick question for the knowledgeable if possible

Leisure battery's (none lithium )
So agm come in grades

A
B
C

B commonly used In caravans for 230v hook up
A used for off grid

Will be mainly using for site use but may need off grid when using as day van
Is there a significant difference between grade a & b in regards to using in the vw t6
Size will be 12v 130ah with 256w solar panel winter isn't giving great charge where parked

Any tips greatly received on selecting a new battery current battery has reached end of life will take on a run 12.8v and discharge itself to 8.25 v the weather killed it
Dc charger fitted mppt 100/75 with solar panel 256w Sargent unit with internal charge not used as daily driver so gets out on good days at weekends only

Lifepo4 batteries are so cheap now, why not get one of those?

Could be a good chance to upgrade.

the 100/75 mppt will be fine as its got a lithium profile.

the sargent has a fixed voltage output for the LB,. . . so can be used in the meantime, but wouldnt fully charge a lithium. - recoemended to swap out for a decent EHU battery charger . . like a Victron or a CTEK battery charger.

you dont mention what dc-dc you have?

fyi -

the most popular AGM leisure battery is the LEOCH XTREME 110ah,

I've had a twin set myself in the past. . . very good batterys.

but for £160 each, two will be £320. . .

two of those wouyld be the equivilent to one lifepo4.

or,

pay £339 for a 100ah smart heated lithium.

As Dell says it sounds like a good time to upgrade to a lifepo4. £2-300 will get you more usable power in a smaller, lighter and longer lasting battery. Otherwise, if your old battery was doing what you need then replace with like for like.

This is seriously cheap at the moment at £249.00:

We have one and we certainly recommend it.
Wow. They were £369 until recently and very occasionally £299 on offer (that’s what I paid). Been very happy with mine.

Thanks all
I work near alpha batteries I may call in and see about the agm batteries x2 am.thinkimg of losing the internal water tank as we don't tend to use them
Although the lifepo4 seems a great option depending on the charging arrangements can only see the two red cables going to the dc -dc charger I can see its charging the agm when on the move just can't find it to co firm it at moment
