Logbook Motor Caravan

Not quite correct. The cameras mistakenly go off the M1, N1 taxation class, so M1s get the lower speed limits whereas N1s get the higher. If your M1 van qualifies to the DVLA regs then you can appeal the incorrect NIPs.
I think it's the other way around Jon. M1 is the same class as a car, therefore higher speed limits.

...so M1s get the lower speed limits whereas N1s get the higher.
I think it’s the other way around - M1s get higher speed limits; N1 lower ones - but probably a moot point in relation to the OP's question as a van will always show as N1 and a Motor Caravan will always show as M1.

Not true! Mine is N1:

Presumably you had the Body Type updated to "Motor Caravan" before the DVLA changed the rules in Oct 2019?

Under the current rules, that's no longer possible (or, at least, until very recently that was the case - there's a recent report on here of 1 hight-top conversion successfully being reclassified).

Edited post above due to typos. Thanks for pointing them out.

Just had a brand new van converted and the log book says Motor Caravan

I though it would say Camper van

How many diffrent variations can you have on a log book, i know of 1 other pannel van with windows

Aslo if my lag book says motor caravan does this mean I can use the same speed limits as cars and not vans

Thanks
In the eyes of the law, there’s no such thing as a “Camper van” it’s a Motor Caravan.

No body type until registered! Body type Motor Caravan at first registration.
