Hi all,

My Dad has decided to upgrade to the much more superior T6 from his T5 :p

However, hes struggling to find a company that has the right T6 camper and also take his T5 camper as P/X. A large majority are offering low amounts for his T5 even though its only done approx 10k and is in immaculate condition, but hes a realist and understands that the company have to make a bit on top also with a P/X.

He's after an engine 140bhp or above and a business ideally situated in the north east, although hes prepared to travel (on about going to Bridge End to view one at weekend :confused:)

Any help, suggestions of campers for sale you've recently seen and thought if only, would be greatly appreciated - its a mine field lol.

Hillside Leisure at Derby usually have a selection of campers ready to go. They will also do factory orders as well as doing new conversions on second hand vans (either sourced by you or them) - I know they do part exchange as there is also usually a selection of second hand campers/motorhomes on their lot but I don't know how good a deal they would offer.

We went for one of their Birchover builds on a factory order Highline 150 DSG and after nearly a year still love it. Since owning, and primarily through using this forum, I have come to realise that the majority of the components they fit, e.g. RIB bed, SCA roof, Waeco/Dometic appliances, Eberspacher heater, etc., are all top spec (more luck than judgement on my part!) which makes it harder to compare like for like with others based purely on price.

@4ndy
Know it's more hassle but quality low mileage vans are hard to come by.... can't he sell privately
and then be in a strong cash buy position?
We looked at Hillside and were impressed.

Is there something about the T5 conversion that no longer meets his needs?
Remember that it is your inheritance being spent....

All, thanks for the reply's.

Answers to your questions;

  • He doesn't want the hassle of people turning up tyre kicking, hence preferring the P/X route.
  • I've pointed Hillside leisure out to him, hes planning a visit - many thanks.
  • Inheritance!! - pfft, he spends money like its going out of fashion :eek::eek::eek::D
Thanks again
