Loss of power under acceleration

Hi all, 2016 T6 102 here. Today the van had intermittent loss of power, a sound like air being drawn in heavily and a strong smell of diesel when driving.

Feels like it could possibly be an exhaust / manifold issue but any other suggestions gratefully received. I do have Carly which could possibly throw up codes if that helps.

Typically, we're meant to be away this weekend too!

Are you sure it’s not the smell of exhaust? Have a Search on cracked EGR pipe.

Thanks, it's not noticeable in the cab but the fumes are noticeable when I have the window down. Would that also account for the loss of power? Certainly some similarity with the cracked EGR, seems a popular issue
