Lost my towbar key!!! FARK!!!

So my barrel number only has 3 digits and on all websites it say it should have 5 and the key number is 2w?? And the last 2 digits. Westfalia said it’s still the same, so I order a 2w48 as my barrel says 248. It didn’t work! Spoke again to Westfalia who have been no help!! Anyone got a barrel 248 who would send me there key number? Spoken to vw they can’t help.

On my key it is 2Wxx and on the lock 383xx

Xx are numbers which are the same on the barrel and key.

Not sure if that helps?

I bought a van and didn't get the key. I went to the local Westfalia tow bar fitters. They will have (or can get hold of a huge number of keys.) It's a matter of going through them 1 by one till you find one that fits. Then you have to order the correct key.

Strange, i just had a look at spare keys and the list goes from 2W01 up to 2W50

I think they would get lost less if they were a normal key and the spare would go on your spare van keyring!

This is straight from Westfalia, so I’ve rang them 3 times, even brought a key which didn’t work.

I only got one key with the van, and it’s stuck in the towbar till you plug it in, the rest is history

paulycould you see if the numbers are different for a vw t5, Mines a very early t6 and it’s worth a look

I’m pretty sure they keys are just Westfalia and nothing to do with VW so that won’t matter.
