Managing Lesuire Battery

@Mavis I'm sure it's the ec 160 which when you look a bit further is a battery charger/ 230v AC and 12v DC fuseboard combination.

There's been a thread on here that looked like it was going to end in handbags at 10 paces as the Sargent unit blurb gives out the wrong impression regarding it powering the leisure battery when the van is running from the engine only, it doesn't.

Look up @Loz thread in the electrical section, I've read it a few times and even as a bread and butter electrician it's still only just sinking in!

Tempted to go DC to DC though as otherwise the leisure battery is just remaining uncharged between sessions on an EHU at home or on site.

Oh, I see! Not what I was expecting :( I will have to have a chat with the converter as there will be times it needs to be charged from the running engine
What is the alternative? Or can this same system be used with some additional work to use the Sargent system?

I've read a post on here where a forum member had his Sargent unit modded but realistically power to the leisure battery needs to come from the engine starter battery and or via the Sargent when using an EHU which is wherw the Redarc and similar units come in.

Like I say I'm still confused a bit.
