MFSW retrofit to a basic van

Golf has white buttons and transporter has red maybe
I was told the issue was that they couldn't get the buttons to illuminate when the head lights were switched on, but to be honest i would have thought that, that was one of the easier parts of the process. Going from a mfsw to an upgraded mfsw i can see this should be an easyish process. But from a standard steering wheel to a multi function? Nah...... way past my pay grade.

Hi @Absolut5 I'd be very interested in this...but im not local..(switzerland..!). We have a euro 6, with cruise control on stalks. its manual, not DSG.

As far as i understand, we'd need a retro-fit loom for the mfsw, and the wheel itself. This would then 'talk' to the pioneer radio we bought from you last year correct? i had specified a loom for mfsw as i had thought in the future to change this..!

would i need vcds for this? if so, so which version - the 200 usd?

could you let me know either pm or email? thanks in advance!

Hello all

Really looking for some advice and recommendations . . . I've had my T6 for over a year now and I really want to change my steering wheel to a Leather Multi Functional one.

I've bought a Gen 5 Highline wheel (cruise on the stalk) same as mine, with no airbag.

I am getting conflicting advice over whether I need a new airbag or can I use my existing one, I understand I need a wiring harness as well - is this correct, what else do I need and are there any recommendations on who would fit...live on the south coast in Dorset.

Thanks in advance

Not sure what you mean by gen 5 highline wheel
If you have bought a T6 mfsw then your airbag will click straight into, if it’s not a T6 wheel then normally the airbag retaining clips are different so uses a different airbag

if you have the correct wheel and buttons then all you need is the steering wheel wiring loom (available from VW or resellers online) and the two cables that you need to install to connect the wheel to the van

Hi

Looking to upgrade to a multi function steering wheel. I have searched the forum and not able to find much

I understand I must get a non cruise control wheel for compatibility, with Golf MK7 wheel being mentioned. Not many are for sale with airbags and was told my airbag probably won't fit.

Are there any other models that will be compatible?

This is the wheel I got, although its not a picture of my van

Van is a trendline.

I ordered a kenwood off Absolut5 and he advised the loom will be there and a multi funciton steering wheel will simply hook up
