Hi bud, I was told by installers that you can't have insulation on the floor because of the bonding glue. This didn't particularly make sense to me (I have the 2mm foil backed insulation on my floor).I’m going to be getting the Mobiframe floor and bench system. Has anyone put any sound deadening or insulation under the floor? Conscious it is already quite thick
There is an XPS core on the floor, so you won’t need much extra thermal insulation.I’m going to be getting the Mobiframe floor and bench system. Has anyone put any sound deadening or insulation under the floor? Conscious it is already quite thick
hey all, has anyone took the plunge yet?
the Reimo seems almost impossible to buy to fit yourself and the mobi is the only thing that comes close. I have also found Stide but needs to be installed by NASA.
Mobiframe seems to tick all my boxes but the only person i have seen fit one was the overland guy on youtube and he slated the mobiframe for sleeping comfort. If i can get more of an idea on this i am ready to buy.
Looking forward to hearing and seeing how you get on with this as I've been considering it. Are you getting the RIB style seat with the slimmer seat squab? Wanting to reduce, or at least not increase, the height of the seat compared with our current fixed RIB.Ordered the floor yesterday. Picking it up in a couple of weeks. Will do a thread on installation and how it is performing
Sounds good (easy) with regard to the bolts. I'll watch with interestYes going for the Mobiframe 112cm bed. I do like how it is more “seat” like and doesn’t seem to be as high.
No, there is a fitting kit that comes with adhesive to glue it down. Then 2 bolts for the rails towards the rear and this is the element that makes it M1 tested he said. We shall see though!
yeah, that review stung me too, although at 112cm on a big bloke I think movement (or lack of) could be a few percent of it too. watching hundreds of loops of the folding in and out video on youtube I have made enquiries for the order of one from the UK dealer. need clarification on what floor as I/we need the rails offset to the left so hoping I can get that in a 2 rail variant, but unsure. will report back if there is any interest?I'm in exactly the same position.
Pretty much decided that Mobiframe is the system for us. Just need to actually take the plunge and hit the 'buy' button.
We're looking at the floor rail system and the 3 seater bed.
We've also watched UrbanArkOverland on Youtube as his videos were where we first heard about the system. Concerned to hear that they might not be the most comfortable to sleep on though - We're used to a RIB bed and that one is nice and comfy!
We've seen the Mobiframe system for sale at Camperwarehouse and Campervinn with the Campervinn seemingly being slightly cheaper
I agree, nobody sells seats which have "comfortable" backs, that I know about. I have a rolled-up memory foam mattress, which is okay to sleep on (it's about 50mm thick).I think regardless of bed you need a topper or self inflating mattress to actually make it comfortable. So for me I don’t think it will be a problem. I think the fact it’s DIY and the seat system slides easily also is a big winner for me. Kind of building my whole van around it.
I’m ringing Camperwarehouse Monday morning to get my floor ordered. When I spoke to them on the phone they said the floor takes about 2 hours to install. Needs gluing down but you do need to drill 2 bolts through the floor to the underside of the van.
Have you installed the floor and bed system? I’m picking the floor up Monday
