My T30 seems to have T32 suspension

I have a 2020 T6.1 LWB with camper conversion. It was a Republic of Ireland van, and has a gvw under the bonnet of 3000kg. So I assumed that meant it was a T30 (there is no badge on the tailgate as it was converted from barn doors).

I then bought a T30 Solow NSL coilover kit with very low miles off ebay and have just failed to fit it, because my van seems to have T32 hub carriers and struts.

Has anyone seen this before or is this a bit of an anomaly? Just a bit confused as to how it has happened and pretty gutted the Solow's can't go on it!

Did you have it from new? T32 partial/complete suspender transplants aren't uncommon as a good value means of restoring ride height after a weighty conversion.

Yes we’ve seen this on loads of Transporters. Especially the latest builds. Like VW were raiding the parts bin!

It really confused me and then my heart just sank! lol. Is there any actual benefit or difference in the T32 suspension?

What suspension would you all recommend? Shes full camper conversion, long wheelbase, 20" wheels on 265/40/20 tyres. I would like a 70mm or so drop, and a noticeable improvement in ride quality (currently on std shockers with 45mm Eibach springs).

From what I have read on here, a noticeable improvement in ride will be easy if you have decent shocks on those 45mm springs, anything more, shorter shocks will be needed 👍
I say this, I however, still have my camper on standard T32 suspension and 20's 🤔🤣

There are options available but the limiting factor will be your 275/40 tyres. Our own, best selling BMVS edition Kit will drop to 70mm at its lowest or Solow NSL at its highest. Just got to be careful with the tyres. We can supply both kits. Always happy to have a chat on the phone to discuss through the options with you.

Will so low NSL's on their highest setting be an issue on 265's or will reducing tyre size width to 245/45's be a better option? I'm also after a nice decent drop but want to maintain what I consider and acceptable ride that I have on standard suspension. I assume NSL's on max height will be a tad lower than 70mm due to the weight of a camper on a LWB T32?

At their highest with 265/40 you will be fine. Here’s one we did this week and it’s around halfway down from memory.

Funny you say this. I have a 2023 (73) T6.1 T30 LWB which has been fully converted and was finding the ride really harsh on the lowered cobra springs and standard shocks. Had a kit sent up from CRS to be fitted locally up here in Scotland only to find that my T30 also has T32 hubs and struts. What a pain!
Luckily the guy fitting does stock car racing and is down CRS way this weekend so meeting Steve from CRS to swap for the correct shocks etc. That’s what you call service! Thanks to @CRS and Fife Autotech.
