Nankang AS2+ what's the difference?

I know some people would never touch a Nankang tyre, but having run them on my lightly used Clio 172 (in semi-slick form), they seem pretty good and I am coming round the the idea of a midrange tyre (even though my vRS has a full set of Pilot Sport 5s....)

What's the difference between these three offerings? I can't find any reference to Sportnex and non-Sportnex version of this tyre on Nankang's own website.

Yes, I've done that too. I was hoping to get some user feedback/knowledge - it's very difficult to search online as it all gets lumped into AS2+

Nankangs are very popular in the stance scene as they come up pretty narrow and stretch well. I used to run 255 NS2 on a 12j rim. They are a good mid range tyre.

I run NS2R on my Clio 172 - they're alright. They're not a Michelin but perfectly adequate.

The response I got from Nankang is:
"There is only one AS2+, Sportnex is a sub-brand of Nankang for our performance road tyres [it is] a Nankang Sportnex AS2+"

Which confirms what I thought, but I still don't understand why the tyre retailers - and I'll repost this image - still insist on offering more than one version of what appears to be an identical tyre

I get that and some people might pay a premium for fitting within 24 hours, but surely that is deliberately misleading.
It actually works out to £108/tyre.
Protyre had them for £85.87 fitted, but they're never in stock...

I've gone for some Giti Control P10, available in 245/45 R20 103, which is the same spec as the Nexens I am running.
They are very good value (only £9 more than the Nankang) and performed very well in a tyre test I have just looked at.
