Negative of factory swivel option

I have these on a T6 and you lose the height adjust function in selecting this option (not sure if it’s the same on the T6.1). You definitely can’t spin round at the press of a button, you need to move the seat forward (but not too far), put the seat back forward (but not too far), put the armrests down or up then swivel, simple ;) but I think if you want a swivel function it’s best to get the factory fit. We often swivel the single passenger seat when parked up but save the drivers for mostly only when camping
Yes, this is the same on the T6.1. I'm having a conversion done and the converter bought the vehicle with factory swivels on both front seats. It's not a problem, but if I was ordering myself I would prefer the seat adjustment on the driver's seat so would probably just retro-fit a passenger swivel base.

Well he is wrong about both seats having to be swivel. So maybe he is wrong about the lumbar as well.

Edit: I've just been outside to my van. The factory swivel seat I have does have the lumbar support.
Me too

If you add options to a van on the VW Van builder website, speccing the passenger seat swivel forces the driver seat to be a swivel too. Or at least it did why I tried it as I wanted to keep height and lumber support but thought a passenger swivel alone would be useful.
Well its different now then. If you spec no bulkhead then you get the passenger swivel on its own. Then you have to add the drivers swivel seat on top of that.

Can you confirm if the lumbar function is lost on the 6.1 when swivel seats are specced pleare ?

As soon as my converter receives the vehicle (any day now) I will ask him to check these points and let you know.

I am six foot... if I add these to my order for a 6.1 Kombi will I be too tall for them?

I am just a shade over 6'. My passenger is factory swivel, my drivers seat does not have a swivel. I measured the height I have mt drivers seat at. It is hard to measure but I think they are pretty much the same, definitely less than 0.5cm different.

im 6ft 2, have a 6.1 highline with both factory swivels and its fine. i also could easily wear a tiara if needed... and finally i do have lumbar adjustment.

Thanks for the input
I asked my van centre again the other day. He was adamant on a 6.1 you do lose the lumber function when the swivel seats are specced

No! I am 6’ too and I could still wear a tiara driving! (Sometimes I do!)
Hey when are you going to send me my tiara back? You borrowed it pre lockdown 1.

Hey! I can confirm this too. I used to have T5.1 with both swivels, now I own T6.1 Multivan with both swivels too. There IS lumbar support on both seats. The only thing I would ensure is how tall you are. The swivel seat is a bit higher and of course there is no chance to pump it down. I am 195cm tall which is 6.4 and there is just a bit of space above my head because the Multivan lining is thicker due to air vents in the ceiling. Two meter tall man would NOT fit for sure!

Great. Thanks. I’m gonna get them added to my spec.

I’ve got factory swivels with lumberAdjustment as standard. I normally like to sit close to the steering wheel but I can’t because my knees just hit the dashboard. I would also like the seat lower so I can see more out of the top of the windscreen. But hey ho,At least they’re nice for when camping overnight. I’m 6, 3
