New Defender Vs T6.1

@harveyj09

I have a 2016 102bhp camper REVO tune to approx 170 bhp, B14, (for sale)
A 150bhp 2023 converted to a day van, sliding bed pop top dsg
A 204bhp standard kombi 2024
And the 90

The 102 camper blinds the other two transporters, power and ride quality
But the 90 is another world

That’s why I’m putting a 350 bhp on order and moving the D250 on
The only reason is for the power lol

What’s the lease like on a Defender? Wife’s got a Evoque Hybrid on lease but I hate driving it. Next time I’d prefer a proper looking Tonka Toy. Yes I’m showing my age now.

Just enquired and can get it in my business insurance for no extra premium but excess would be an extra 5% of the value.
And likely an £800 tracker installed as a requirement of the insurance...

This is like comparing apples to oranges. We had a run of 8 Discos from 1991-2013 & loved them. The cost of ownership was way more than the T6 is costing us. That said, the D4 is the best tow vehicle I’ve ever driven, it was planted, supremely comfortable, and powerful. But we couldn’t sleep in it, cook in it etc. If I had to make the same choice again between a Landrover Defender/Disco/Range Rover etc. and the T6, it would be the T6. They are completely different beasts aimed at completely different markets. If money was no object, I’d have both.

Love them as vehicles but the crazy theft risk of both the new and old versions means I'll likely never own one.
I would imagine most are stolen by mechanics who need to get a life. I know quite a few Land Rover / Range Rover owners, they are either working on them or working to pay somebody else to work on them. Best of British?
