Hi guys,

Admired VW campers from the early split screens straight through to the T6 and now I can finally say I own one! Collect it in two weeks and its going to be the longest two week wait ever!

Few things I need to do to it, things that weren't spec'd in the original conversion like solar panel and diesel heater. After that I'll concentrate on the external with some swamper style alloys and all terrain tyres. Things like an awning etc will also be purchased.

Re. The awning. Unless you actually need the space (kids/dog etc.) use the van a few times before spending your cash. If there’s just the 2 of you, you might find you don’t need one.

Yeah I plan on using it before making any purchases (apart from solar and heater, they're a definite). It will be just me using until I find a woman with low standards

Well, at least you have somewhere you can try out before committing!!!

What's going on with the front wheels? I thought a wheel sticking out past the arch like that was an MOT fail?

I think its a bit of camera trickery, they dont stick out like that however I will double check when I go back this weekend to sign the paperwork

No, Im lucky enough to know a guy who converts Sprinters so he's offered to take a look. Bit more difficult due to the fact the vans already been kitted out. Would obviously be easier if it wasnt but hey ho. He'll be installing the diesel heater too

Nice! Would be keen to see pics once you've had it done. I am thinking about solar on mine, wouldn't fit it myself (the pop top would be full of holes and filler!)

Exactly the same mate, be full of filler, duct tape and cable ties ha ha

There is a lighting hierarchy post somewhere on the Forum which goes from H4 candles like yours up to Oem LED.
H7's are a popular upgrade....

Fitting solar is not difficult if you use flexible panels.
