Hi, sorry for the late reply. The antenna was simply put into the area where the interior light cluster is and gap on the roof filled with a rubber grommet.

Its fine, i think its only used for the internal sim card for the SOS service. The DAB aerial is on the driver side wing mirror.

Ah I see - I thought the DAB was up there.

We use REIMO roofs and they have a cut out specifically for the antenna. Here is a transit custom with same kind of roof antenna to the T6.1, During roof fit and after.

Carries wifi signal via a preloaded sim card for the headunit and multimedia etc. To my knowledge it is nothing more than a MiFi.
DAB still in mirror.
Doesn't require the metal plain of the roof. Therefore it can go anywhere..

We Connect uses the same data connection via the embedded SIM as the eCall system, so if you have signed up for We Connect and it still works you know you haven't done the antenna any harm.

Had a roof fitted by VW Bus Campers, and they lifted the antenna on top of the front fairing. You’ll see it in this picture - it’s there own Stella pop top
