Me I'm of the opinion that bars that come out from the sides are best.. I'm having steps, they protect bodywork from trolleys and car doors..

What do you get with roof rack prep ?

You just get two long bars which go on the roof and you can fit roofrails to them anywhere along them . I ordered them in error

@a5cyt not really important, perhaps its me, but your second row seating is fitted differently to others I've seen as the single seat is on the right OCD strikes again

It's how I ordered them Dave's dad, so the front and second row lay flat one behind the other, so you can carry long items, just like a through load

@a5cyt thank you for the explanation because when I first saw the seats I thought I was mistaken so I had to check so I didn't start doubting myself . Makes perfect sense though .

I see your point about the seats laying flat behind eachother!

We ordered the 2+1 so the wife can pop stuff in the back via the side door so we chose the traditional setup.

I have the vw roof rack ,I will look and see how they attach .At the moment I take out one of the bolts on the roof and fix it down .
Wonder if with your system it will slide in and fix were needed .
