Noob advice needed on first set of alloys

Hi all, as the post suggests - new to the world of alloys...

Been running my T6 for the last few years on the standard 16" steel wheels, and given all four tyres are now more like skis, want to upgrade wheels alongside getting new tyres.

Like the look of this combination of 19" alloys with some fairly basic but seemingly well-reviewed tyres, but a bit confused by the difference in width. The rims are 8.5 inches so 215mm (why are they still in inches when the tyres use mm anyway?) whereas the tyres are 275mm. Can't find anything online, and the retailer just said "yeah, that's fine" in live chat.

So just wondering if this makes sense, as it sounds like the tyres are far too wide (60mm) for the rims, despite the site recommending they work together fine. Am I worrying about basically nothing? Will it work but look odd? Any feedback gratefully received!

Some say 275 are too 'bulbous'. I don't. Plus it depends on the manufacturer. If you go 255 it'll give you a more 'stretched' look.
Have a play on Will They Fit?
Just make sure you get the right load rating for your van whatever you decide.

There's litterly TONS of threads on here about tyres.

Thanks. I couldn't find anything specifically about width, here or more widely online - but you're right, there must be something else out there!

That website looks like exactly what I need though, much appreciated.
