Nottinghamshire / Derbyshire / South York - Clutch specialist

I'm looking to have a new clutch/flywheel fitted (I'll be supplying the upgraded clutch).

Just wondered if anyone can recommend a garage/mechanic that they would entrust their T6 to for this sort of work. Ideally needs to be in the North Derbyshire/South Yorkshire area, I'd travel further afield if I could but work means no days off midweek at the minute unfortunately.

I do have a back up plan (from a very helpful member on here) but it's a little further away than makes practical at the minute.

Cheers.

I've used these guys for servicing my Vw's for over 20yrs now:

I can highly recommend Sean at S.C. Services in Tamworth. I know it’s further to travel but he is a VW guy through and through. I only trust him to touch my cars as I am a real fuss arse. I have to be more fussy than most as my Caddy (sorry not a T6 lol) is adapted for my wheelchair and I absolutely have to have a reliable person to work on my vehicle.

The benefit for you is that he works on Saturdays if that helps.

Thanks for the recommendations all. Hopefully should get something booked in this week.

Out of interest, how many miles has the clutch failed at ?
I presume its low, if you want to uprate ?
Just over 30k. Uprating due to increased power (which is what killed the clutch I assume :) ).

Wow, crazy low miles....
What power are you running ?

The TFSI engines jump considerably in power. If it was DSG it wouldn't be an issue but the manual gearbox can't cope with the torque increase. It's exactly the same with Golf GTI's and R's
