Odd Tailgate Leak...

I have had a look and it’s available on eBay.
I think the dry rubber on the fresh lacquer is not sealing properly.
I couldn’t understand how a van that just leaves the factory has this issue. I didn’t think it was worth all the hassle taking it by it back to the dealership while they scratched there head on a fix, then fit a new rubber seal for it to leak when I drive home

That will definitely fix the issue.
Cox motor parts are genuine Honda dealership and highly recommended for price

The Honda stuff mentioned above is very expensive silicone grease.
I’ve been using silicone grease for decades and there isn’t much better available than Dow Molykote 111 which is half the price of the Honda stuff.

I had the same issue with the tailgate rubber leaking, top RHS.
2 month old van just completed conversion.
I found that the rubber had been put back on to the metal lip a bit too far after removing for carpet lining.
Pulled it out a few mm and no further leaks.

I also use this on rubber as recommended by another other forum user, who I can't now remember the name of!!
Thanks anyway...

Think it might have been @Niknak who recommended it

No, Niknak was on James Bond once upon a time!!!!
Hi @Randolph and @DXX

I'm having the same leaking issue on the tailgate, just ordered some silicone grease to try to resolve issue.

You mention dressing with the silicone is that the actual hinge or the area of the rubber seal ?

If you have a picture that would be fantastic

Cheers

Garry

Lightly coat the rubber seals, tailgate hinges don’t require maintenance.
It’s worth doing all door seals once a year.

Thanks for your fast reply.

Silicone Grease on its way and I'll apply as your advice

Thanks Again

I noticed a small trail of water on my rear glass, inside as the wiper didn't remove it. I know the rubber on the tailgate upper light has perished, but it's now completely gone.

I have wiped it dry and applied a wide strip of helicopter (type) clear tape over it. Need to get a new light, but it is frustrating that I have to replace the whole light cluster just for a badly designed latex seal.
