Oil Change 6 months

Hi there all

My van (6 months old in June) is showing it is due an oil change service.
Is this normal??

Also I have a full 4 year (I think) service plan. Will this be covered in the plan?

12k miles is the normal first oil change, ( or 12months )

and will be covered by the service plan.


whats the van spec? & millage?

and the dash is saying oil service due?

take a pic of the dash warning.

but id imagine a quick trip to the dealer will have that warning reset for another year.

I have phoned VW Van centre and apparantly when the PDI was done when we bought the van, the counter was not reset.
So i will have to pop it to them to carry out a counter reset.

With your van being only six months old there's no reason why you couldn't do a DIY oil and filter change, but you might want to consider how this might affect your warranty and potentially your resale value.
My van is 7 years old, has no warranty and I hope to keep it for many years, so I do mine myself, but you are in a different situation. Just food for thought, I'm not telling you you should or shouldn't DIY it, just a few things to consider first.
