I'm don't know of anyone that's actually replaced one. They're under a very light load, they're quite beefy considering the job they do, and don't degrade like wet cambelts can.
I think the whole point - like wet camnelts - is that they're in there for life, difference being wet cambelts were a gamble too far and dont actually meet that brief whereas wet oil pump belts do.
In any case, the oil pump belt will be replaced. I don't want to take any risks, the car has now been driven 160,000km and if I replace it now I think I can drive the next 160,000km "carefree" without worrying about the condition of the oil pump belt. I don't know if it's too much anticipation, especially since I have to pay for or do all the repairs myself.
