Oil Service & Inspection Due - Help please…

Hi all. I know there’s many a post about service intervals etc but I’ve got the below light come up on my van for ‘oil service & inspection in 14 days’… I’m guessing this is for a major service from everything I’ve read?



The service history I was given when I bought the van back in July is fairly limited, so I’m wondering if it’s best just to get it done anyway. Or if anyone could pinpoint what sort of service would be due at 125k/126k… in case the service indicator was reset at the wrong time (had that before on a work van).

All help/opinions greatly appreciated!

I'd just get it serviced, it seems you can't be sure when it was last done. At least then you know it's been done.
At that mileage you should be thinking about the cambelt too, unless you're certain it's been done.

Yea, good point. I’m sure I saw the cambelt had been done but will confirm that too. Better safe than sorry! Thanks a lot

Just had mine serviced at 12 months - previous owner did that for last 4/5 years even though only 4k miles each year.

Service picked up a leaking EGR pipe/joint thing / putting exhaust fumes into cab (did notice a smell thought it was just a regen so ignored it for a while).

Anyway money well spent + if go on to sell (which I’m not) adds to the paperwork that will help someone else).

So my personal view - worth doing.

BTW - MOT, service and the EGR thing about £450 (the EGR thing was £250 of that) so money well spent.

Cambelt was last done in feb 22 by Salop vans, at around 105k (going by the mot mileage 3 days before it was done) so would I be right in thinking there’s about another year until it needs doing? Although I guess they’ll let me know what sort of condition it’s in at the major service.

I think VW have changed their advice to mileage and not age - sure someone with more knowledge than me can advise if needed / mine was done by previous owner on regardless of mileage - me not sure which way to go.
