Interesting this is. If you look up trailer assist it’s an automatic self steering mode to reverse your trailer. I very much doubt this is available on a transporter. It’s probably being confused with a trailer or towing program on the vans stability control. This is available when a dedicated wiring loom is used for the towing electrics and not a bypass relay. These are easily fitted afterwards and are not exclusive to a factory fitted tow hitch.

I had the sales rep here last week and he said MY18 models came with trailer assist if you had the factory towbar and reversing camera, perhaps he meant the Crafter and not the Transporter? He told me how he had reversed a trailer on a demo day using the mirror switches.

Anyone had Vw supply fit ABT kit to there order I have hit a full stop
Van centre not getting back to me on the abt stuff
Could buy van & do mods myself but I just want it done in one from order
Quote with standard bumpers All in At £37.5 k with no kit

Go to Richter Sport for the ABT kit. They create the demo vehicles for the dealerships. Vw won't do it.

Richter sport supplied mine and I painted/ fitted.
