It would be very interesting to be a fly on the wall at the next VAG Board Meeting............ I bet they cannot wait to see the back of Diesels; constantly waiting for the next bit of bad news; the next city to limit their use; and a odd class action from the USA; etc etc. I wonder if they will accelerate their alternative engines and T7's which can accomodate batteries/hybrids.
Latest is uk California owners refused registration at the dealers. But these are registered as non commercial so we wait to see if it is now affecting commercial registrations.
The previous software (and in some cases hardware) changes from the original emission scandal was voluntary by the owner. As someone who used to work in the diesel engine design and manufacturing industry (Euro 2 through to Euro 5+), I made sure that our Yeti was not touched. You could not comprehend the work that goes into producing an engine and after treatment package that meets these emission standards. I would never let any remapping company touch a diesel vehicle after Euro 3 either but that's a slightly different topic!
Booze up in a Brewery springs to mind - I think what I loathe about their management is that their default position seems to be "Cover Up! Say nothing! Maybe the idiot customers won't notice!"
Idiot customers keep buying. They have 30 million $ fine to pay in the usa. Guess who is paying that fine for them?
VAG attitude to customers is disgusting. They cannot be trusted.
