Ovano & Cadco Configurations

With the bed section in the bulkhead position it’s held in place with a cord, no locking mechanism. Search on YouTube for ovano switch and THQ have a good video that shows it being installed and setup.

The legs are stowed in place when the board is up in bulkhead mode.

They maybe a way of adding a bar to stop the board being dropped down...but you have to lift/pivot up the base board to allow that..... And if you have gear placed there it's next to impossible to move.

So might be best to get the unit first, suss out how it operates, then look at what you want to do after.

Yeh makes total sense. Really I just want to stop anyone IF they got into front of the van, from taking the bulkhead down to get inside load area. Am sure there's a way to do it, and noted on if you're keeping stuff on parcel shelf etc. So it may secure itself.

have a look here on how it operates. . .

Hi guys, has anyone used the bike bar yet to fit two 29er mtb’s? Seen some images around and it looks very tight/unfeasible. Looking at options to carry two 29er mtb’s using the ovano system.

I’ve got a LWB kombi and if the bike bar doesn’t work then I was considering making some form of storage system on the drawer itself by removing the top panel each time, whether that be a rear wheel storage system placed at the back of the drawer or making a fork mounted system to fit at the front of the drawer.

Thoughts encouraged! Cheers.

I love my ovano and can’t think of any way of improving it for my needs! Work van during the week hauling tools and materials and day van on the wkend chuck a mattress in and a throw away bbq and away we go! Before I had this the van was a mess tools everywhere never could find anything now if I don’t keep it organised it doesn’t fit!!

Hey

This is exactly what I need , what's the height from combi floor to bed top.
Or height required to clear folded seats
Looking at putting something together myself if I can get the relevant info , without my seats fitted I can't make the configuration out and how much space left behind seats when up

Thanks

Hi Kevin,

I’ve just measured my Ovano and it’s 560mm from the floor to the underside of the bed platform .
Where abouts in Manchester are you? I’m Stalybridge area and was going to offer for you to have a look at mine. I figured it might help if your planning to build your own .

Cheers,
Adam

Anyone have a Narrow and lives in Edinburgh or near by? for the same reason as above it would be great to see one up close as I'm trying to invent my own.

I'm suggesting a dedicated thread for those of us to discuss, share and critique one another's OVANO & CADCO day van configurations.

There's often a sporadic post/picture across other threads but a single thread could be useful.

Our T6 Kombi is the family daily driver but I would like to configure the drawer in a way that it can be used for kitchen, cooking and occasionally hauling cr&p from one place to another.

Before I fire up the plunge saw and router I would be really interested in knowing how others have configured theirs, what works, what doesn't and they plan to do in future.

Why didn't you just ask them to design and configure to suit your needs?

I'm looking to purchase a ovano/cadco system and wonder out of the two what extra do you get £400 price difference between both systems ?

Good question as I can’t see much of a difference either. Aside from the way the bulkhead is held in place.

I'm off down to ovano tomorrow morning to have one fitted gave up waiting around in end. Spoken to a few people and the ovano seems to be of a slightly higher quality using stainless steel fixings etc

Be interested to know if the Cadco uses SS fittings etc? Anyone offer an answer?

The screws etc on our Cadco are all stainless.
I doubt you’ll find anyone who can truly compare as everyone seems to buy one type and sticks with it.
I researched as much as I could at the time and couldn’t see where the additional funds would warrant the Ovano.
I’m sure you’ll be happy with either.

Resale value for one
The ovano is a great bit of kit you won’t be disappointed
Not looking to resell as this will be customised to my insta T6_Floyd which will be engraved into the bulkhead board.

Fair enough but bulkhead alone can be replaced if needed in the future.
In all honesty I looked at both trying to justify the money but the ovano is the original and first and in my eyes the better one.
