P040100 fault code on a 204 4 motion dsg

The engine management light has come on bring up P040100 exhaust gas recirc flow insufficient detected

Suggest that the EGR cooler is becoming blocked, but I have had and cleared this one before and not seen it again for ages.

How do you go about cleaning it

With Carista or VCDS but if your van is less than 3 years old, call out VW Assist.

Egr valve and cooler getting blocked. Clear the code and see.if it comes back. Try a good motorway run with high revs

Trubble is its dsg won't let me do high revs on a run

Vw assist can plug it in if the dpf light comes on and run it through a sequence to clear dpf, not sure if its possible to clear the egr and cooler this way so might be best booking it is.

Rang vw dealer to day to they are closed to the public at the moment they hoping to open in just so provisional booked in for June if they open

Put it across into manual.... I know the dealers are closed that’s why I said VW Assist

Motorway driving at high rpm is for a DPF regeneration, it won't don't anything for cleaning an EGR system.
