Passanger Seat - Double Or Single ?

I've had both, single passenger is so much better for driver and passenger.. i need 6 seats, so i added a single seat in the rear and it works really well for us..

If you don’t need the additional seat the single must be best for comfort and access to the rear of the van, especially if you have kids in the back or it’s a camper.

When we converted CX16 we needed as much storage space as possible, but the single seat is much more comfortable. The solution was to keep the double seat base and make a fitting that allowed us to keep the single seat, this is a steel sheet, hinged at the front, with a sliding pin catch at the back that keeps it in place. I fitted a hydraulic ram under the seat which raises the whole seat structure when required. CoastVW did all the metalwork for me. We had a swivel base before and didn’t use it much, and as we had a toilet installed behind the passenger seat we couldn’t fit a swivel anyway.

Got mine booked in next week to have an additional single seat fitted in the rear.
We opted for the five seat kombi. And getting single removable seat fitted in the back to make a 6 seater when we take out the 4 grandchildren plus us two grandparents.
I did try to leave it 5 seat and leave one of the kids behind, the one that’s playing up !!
But the wife said that’s not an option

I paid a premium to get a van with a single swivel captains seats up front as the wife has complained about every car seat I’ve had. This gives the extra benefit of being able to spend more money I don’t have on a comfort dash retrofit, bonus:thumbsup:
