A piece of calcium sillicate board should do the trick. Its a little fragile so you could always build a small base using some of it sandwiched other material such as some small steel plate

As it goes it grabbed a bag yesterday, that i thought might work for the large fire pit. . .

not tried it yet, but its a DJ/Disco equipment bag for carrying 14kg base plates,

so should be good for the size and weight.


i just need to radius / round off the corners of both my fire pits. . . time to get the grinder out !!!

Starting to get things together for the 2023 camping season. . .

todays purchase. . .

some Grinder flap wheels . . .

to add the radius bends to both my fire pits. ( Large & Small - Steel )

mine are early versions without the radiused corners.

as such the corners are fairly shap and very catchy to any bag or fire banket underneith.

so ill be using these to grind off the sharp edges into nice smooth rounded corners. . . .






i went for a 80,60,40 grit flap discs.








i got these from Toolstation. . . £10.50 for the 3x

but just seen these, looks like a better deal
