Plylining Or Use Existing Panels? Which Is Best?

A purely personal opinion would be that 6mm is too thick and mdf is not waterproof but sure if it works for looks or modifications why not

I spoke to a local converter and he said he uses 6mm MDF instead of ply, any opinions on this?

I work regularly with MDF panels and unless it is sealed correctly (a very long and labour intensive job) it will swell with the moisture in the air over a period of 3-5 years (much quicker if it is in humid environment or if repeatedly gets wet). That said they are far smother, easy to finish neatly, very strong and cheap.
