Plywood recommendation - interior panels, roof and one-piece floors

Its all explained here - according to the code EN636-2 it is class 2.

Bit weird that mine has warped then.
Tried to buy more today but all suppliers up her closed.:thumbsdown:

In the end I went for Custom Shop Designs 3.6 CNC cut panels - yes more expensive but are a perfect fit and lots of time saved. Great service from Custom Shop Designs - rang up and ordered, said they would be about a week and one week later they arrived all nicely packaged up.

I used some 3.6mm from Wickes for the back of the folding seat and it all delaminated and cracked and had all the structural rigidity of a wet paper bag.

Mine from Custom Shop Designs did this. Had to go back 3 tImes andeventually asked for refund

It’s useless, but I only noticed as I was cutting it, so they’d just blame me! I slathered it in PVA woodglue both sides and it’s much better, but I wonder if thin MDF would have been better.

After a light sand, I varnished all the edges to seal them using an oil based varnish.

Hi, Can you guys advise me please if I need to buy 6mm ply boards for lining the back of my new T6.1 Kombi, or are the boards it comes with ok to use ? Still waiting on it arriving, trying to get ready ?

Find a local CNC company to router the floor for you so when you go to pick it up it will drop straight in
Very useful thread this is for my plywood knowledge, I was able to check the humidity grade better than the guy serving me!

However, it seems you can't cut a one piece floor from a 10'x5' (3050mm x 1525mm) sheet as the width at the back of the van is 1600mm? I think I saw that someone managed everything but the rear nearside spot behind the wheel arch in one piece, though?

I bought a “1 piece” ply floor and yes it has a small separate section for behind the n/s rear wheel arch.

Now that is useful! My jigsaw action may not be robotic like a CNC machine but at least it will be no less of a one-piece floor than if I'd bought it. The 12mm 10'x5' birch ply sheet, class 2, from Arnold Laver near me is £67.20 + VAT

The place I bought mine from said that was the biggest sheet produced and no one could supply a true 1 piece floor.

Correct, will be a small join but not where there is foot traffic so ok. You can barely see it or feel it if fitted properly, we sell 'one piece' floors from 10x5 sheets fully cnc cut, fits snug. Problem is delivery is tricky for this size sheet.....
Cheers Ian :thumbsup::thumbsup:
