Pop top bi folding bed - carpet or laminate?

Hi all,
Looking at getting a pop top roof fitted to my van, the base of the bi folding bed is going to be laminate rather than carpet. I personally think it’ll look much better compared to a carpet base but I’m not sure whether it could wear at all? Is the carpet more practical? Or would laminate be okay ?

What sort of laminate you going for?.

I think carpet is more usually fitted, as it's: warmer?
Soft to the feel?
Matches the surrounding carpeted frame covers?
Easier to hide wire for the lights if you have them fitted?

FWIW - we are going for the Alcantara faux felt stuff for the underside of the bed board and carpet on the topside. .. in a matching grey colour.

We are also having the cab roof lined in the same matching carpet so it all blends in.... The demo van we saw looked awesome.

I reckon both would be fine - it's just a matter of personal taste.

Sounds great ! I’m not sure the people I have been getting quotes from do that option, I think it was just laminated birch ply, sort of like a white gloss. Doesn’t look too bad but also not sure how it will go with the carpet on the surrounding frame… I think I need to look at some in person haha. I did attach some photos so you can see what I’m deciding between.
