Hi all,

Hope everyone's well! Would love a better solution for our pop top bed. Currently have been putting our RIB topper up there but its bulky and can be too heavy to keep the roof raised. Also have Duvalays (just the Compact ones tho) but don't use as much as end up turning and the topper being spun to the side or on top.

We have a thin piece of foam that came with it. It has the folds in as we have a bifold bed. Roof is slimline hilifter so there isn't much more room up there.
  1. do we think there is a better mattress I can take our current one out and swap for? Would need to be customised to have the same folds at the bottom for when we raise the bifold roof
  2. a lot of recommendations for the airbeds designed for poptops. But would the roof raise with it in? Does anyone with a bifold use this and can comment?
Cheers!

I went to Panda and got one of their memory mattresses and cut it to size. It replaced my foam supplied with the pop top with no problem.

I have a self inflating Thermarest mattress and an Ikea mattress topper stored up there, although I do have 90mm space between bed board and poptop.

I did upgrade my struts to 220N so it stays up. Your struts probably have some codes printed on which give you the dimensions and the force. You can then order some the same size with more force.

We have a similar issue, I recently changed our poptop board to a bi fold set up, we use a 50mm duvalay topper upstairs and also downstairs, the bi fold bed board won’t stay completely raised up on its own with our duvalay topper and super thick double sleeping bag, so as a temporary fix Im using a price of cut down wooden broom handle as a prop, I’ll look into getting updated struts but don’t want to add another issue..
Also we use a euro hike 2cm double self inflating mattress under the duvlay mattress when upstairs for added comfort, the self inflating mattress is the only thing left in the roof bed when poptop closed for driving.
There’s so many variables on the poptop roof cavity space and also where the joints are placed on different bi fold bed boards
