Will gloss black be cheaper? I think my quote was cheaper because the black is a cheaper/more available wrap? Why can’t they colour match for paint, it must have been colour matched in the first place as it wasn’t standard (unless it’s a California)

They prob could colour match the paint, I just got a bit nervous about the sanding and repainting (guided by the body shop guys nervousness around causing more damage).
My normal state of mind with painted pop tops is that they look right when you don't notice them.
I'm thinking those wafer thin tops that are barely higher than the original metal roof however factor in an upturned bath tub (I've got one) and the bodywork colour seems to emphasise the blobbiness a bit.
I think that works well with your other black accents. Maybe wheels next…! . Hopefully you’re happy and that pain is over. I might have to go down the same route in time. But as Pearl Black van, black gloss wrap might be distinguishable.
