Pop top to high roof?

Hi

Having had the camper for over 5 years we are considering fitting a high roof, to me the obvious benefits would be the height and better all year usability. I get that aesthetically it doesn't look as good as a pop top and the height issues with car parks.

Has anyone made this change? If so how did you find it?

How did they accommodate the awning? We need pics!

I like it. IMHO function should come before form. If I didn't need the 3rd berth up top I'd be sorely tempted to go the same way.

I am not having cupboards...yet, they make brackets for the awning g and it looks a better fit. Luckily I spoke to another forum member who recommended drivelodge, he warned me that the van will need a clean..it does!

Price wise it was considerably cheaper than anyone else but I did my research and thinks it's been done well.

Will take pictures in more detail tomorrow.

It does look very nicely done inside and out. Did you have a poptop before and if so is the roof hole the same? With that config you could definitely have some cupboards at the end

It was newly converted with a pop top when I bought it in 2019. The roof hole is the same, am not sure if we will have cupboards as I'm not sure we need extra storage as it's only us and the dog and it would close in the van.

What's the skylight in the roof? Is it a fan?
It's a standard 400mm clear skylight with flyscreen and blind.

The skylight will be the motor home version not the caravan type which whistle in the wind when driving, they are great ventilation on our few days of summer.
