Power into the cab

2023 DSG T6.1 I’ve looked at ways of running cables from the battery to the front seats area and then to the offside wing area (camper conversion)
The back part is easy to get behind the panels, but the sites I’ve seen show cables through the engine bulkhead, difficult and awkward route. Has anyone removed the underbody panels and ran the cables that area? Take them up and into the seats?

The route from starter battery area to under seat is not difficult if you are happy to remove seats, bases and cab floor. You’ll need to do that anyway even if you go under the van because you’ll still have to bring the cables in and connect stuff up.
It also gives you chance to sound deaden the cab. Remove the Starter Battery and the grommet is easily accessible behind there. Push your cable through and it’s easy to find behind the wheel arch noise insulation.
If you route under the van from the SB then you’ll have to route stuff down the side of the engine and around all sorts of stuff with risk of cable rub and excess heat etc.
There’s a reason people route through the bulkhead, and it’s not because it’s the most difficult way to do it.

However, it is easy to run cables under the van from the front seat to the rear of the van due to all the space behind the underbody plastic trims. That’s where mine go due to having twin sliding doors.
