Power steering rack noisy and leaking

Afternoon All.

My power steering rack is leaking oil and I've a noise when steering at low speed. Anyone encountered this before and can offer a solution.

I've heard of one or two failures. If you don't mind getting your hands dirty a used rack might be worth a pop.

It's been sat on the drive all day no leak. Started it about half hour ago and turned the wheel it's immediately leaking from the gator. Been priced 800 for one to be fitted

Certainly sounds like you need a new rack, as for cost if you're not in the mood to tackle it yourself it might be worth a ring round some local VW specialists for a price comparison.

My van's a 2019 with 19,000 miles bought straight from the dealers and it's now on it's third steering rack. Looks like there was a bad batch of 2019 steering racks for the T6. Unless your quite handy with the spanners I'd have someone else take a look at it. Mine has been done twice under warranty. I've now paid for an extended warranty.
