Price for removing 4 tyres

What do people think a decent price is for removing 4 tyres off 17” alloy wheels? Been quoted £50 off local tyre fitter, seems expensive to me. I’m keeping the tyres..

Sounds about the going rate, I doubt you'll find anyone who's willing to do it for less if that's the only work they're likely to get from you.

Cheapest rate in my area to change a user supplied tyre is £12.50 inc VAT / each so if you are simply removing tyres it should be half that.
£6.25 x 4 = £25.
I think it’s expensive but I’m not sure how much of the fee is to cover the cost of the tyre disposal. When it comes to commercial waste the fees are eye watering.
Try offering to take the used tyres home.

I have said I’m keeping the tyres, as they are good M&S tyres with plenty of life..

If the wheels are already off the van then £20. It's a 10 minute job.

My neighbour has a garage and gets charged £2.50 per tyre for disposal.

The guy who quoted chucks them in his back yard, a nice 6 engine fire developing!

I'd have thought less than that. Fitting tyres requires valves, weights and the time to balance them. £10 in notes is plenty.

If you turn up somewhere with them and make noises of getting new tyres on them after they've had a colour change and/or refurb they might pop them off foc.

The price of a pint or two if you know them! Whatever they like if you’d don’t!!!
