82K. Mechanic suggested gearbox service every 40K now., and get the spline seals checked same time

So it's back & running fine. Had the VW for nearly 5 years and neither VW or the local mechanic ever suggested a DSG gearbox service. Talking to the crew that just rebuilt it, they suggest every 40K miles, during which they can also remove the spline to check the rubber O ring's health (which caused this recent failure)

I’m amazed your vw dealer didn’t suggest the dsg service when it was due . Ours never missed an opportunity add as many items to a service with the added cost.

Yep same here.. all over it to be serviced at any opportunity haha

Oh well I know they can be pushy to increase billing, but in this case I wish they had!
