Had engine consuming all oil after 3-4k miles and smoking
Went to see issue and they came up with turbo is faulty… first quoted max 1700£ with dpf and egr remap
And when went to collect they came up with:

The problem: its still smoking but they say its the old oil, drive on motorway for a while (which I will do tomorrow)

Ummm.. all the oil was coming from the turbo?

How long did they have the van?

Was the turbo sent off for the recon work?

4 weeks… turbo looks new so I guess it was refurbed and saw the van on the bridge plenty of time in these weeks

It's says 'supply and fit'...I presume it's an exchange unit they've fitted if they've supplied it? They really should clarify that.

I'd also want to know exactly what rhe EGR and DPF repairs entailed.

And what is their stated labour rate and how many hours were spent on each item?

If I may say so that's a pretty vague and downright unprofessional invoice considering the money they've had off you. It tells you virtually nothing about where your money went.

OP says dpf and EGR remap?

So was the EGR blanked off and mapped out?

The DPF is probably clogged with burnt crusty oil... So was this mashed though and mapped out?

Official route on a new turbo is to replace the cat,dpf and oxygen sensor.... But thats costly.

Have to agree, that's a pretty poor invoice
