Hi all, my 67plate t6 has just done two regens one after another, it started to do one as I parked up so let it complete, drove off then it started another five minutes later, no warning lights etc
.... so, if I leave the engine during the regen at 1000 rpm until it drops alone to 800rpm the regen is not completed? .... I think so ... from the diagnostics are not regen incomplete ...
All the documentation I have seen requires an engine rpm of 2000 - 2500 for 15 - 20 minutes for the regen to complete. The increase in engine idle speed is because the engine timing is changed during the regen to make the engine run hotter. My guess is after so long idling the van will abandon the regen and try next time.
.... I imagine it is as you say .. however my incomplete regenerations do not appear in diagnostics ... even at 1000rpm it seems to regenerate, and the stench and heat that comes out of the exhaust is remarkable ...
