@Howzat I have a REDARC DC-DC charger and on that the ignition/engine run signal just changes the voltage thresholds when it’s active rather than directly enabling or disabling the charger. Effectively my DC-DC won’t turn on until the voltage reaches 12.9V and will switch off when the voltage drops to 12.7V but if the ignition/engine run signal goes high then the thresholds change to charge above 12V and switch off below 11V. In practice it means it’s charging pretty much all the time the engine is running but has a decent margin for not charging when the vehicle isn’t running.
