Return / Seat Covers for Use With Dog and Heated Seats

I am thinking of either a full retrim or seat covers for my 5 seat Kombi. I just have two factors to also consider.

I have factory heated front seats and also a lovely Fox Ted Labrador that loves to sit on the rear seats and often switches from sitting to standing if he wants to look out or feels the need to on corners even though I am driving like a granny to make him feel at ease.

Would leather be a complete no, with claws, or would the right type of leather be more hard wearing than pleather for example?

If I went down the seat cover route, would pleather be better with the dog and would they be compatible with the heated seats in use?

I can only comment on my covers as I have no idea if leather will be better?
I fitted some pleather covers a couple of years ago from seller leather in on ebay.
My van is a work van so they get some stick and always clean up well.
I have heated seats and a dog (although a small one) and they have been faultless so far.
Not easy to fit but I would definitely recommend them.

Good quality leather should be fine with lab claws. Seek the advice of your retrimmer for a suitable grade of hide.

Cheers guys. All good info.

I totally get the blanket suggestion, but it’s ideally not a look I am hoping for. Plus the standard seats are hair magnets, which a blanket would only replicate.

Not rushing into things just yet, so will contact a few places to see what they can suggest.

The heated seats not being an issue with pleather covers is good to hear though. I have been told so many things about this being a problem and not advisable, hence asking for real world experience.
