Hi guys. I'm Rob and live in New Zealand. Brought a new LWB 340nm 103kw DSG T6 9 months ago. Now 28 ooo km. Use it for work and Mountain bike adventures. Have set up a bed that's removable. It was horrible test driving a new one as engine and gearbox were so tight. Had to wait till its run in to get an accurate opinion. Put 17 inch Amarok alloy wheels on with 235/55 Michelin Primacy 4. The dealer gave me the wheels so only had to buy the tyres. I owned a T4 2 litre petrol for 3 years and 120,000 km. Then a T4 2.5 diesel for 8 years and 220,000 km. Both manual gearbox. So I'm familiar with VW. Both previous vans were the most reliable vehicles I have ever owned. Arse to work on though.
My opinion on the T6 is the engine is good and powerful. Not as smooth as the 5 cylinder 2.5.
The DSG is good but in slow traffic and hilly areas I change the gears manually as it's got some strange habits.My only complaint is the seats are cheap shit. Will find higher spec used seats in the future.
It drives better than any van on the market and I have driven them all. Even owned a Hyundai IMAX for 8 months. YUK.
