not working. I noticed one thing - on the old phone, when someone calls me, I hear the ringtone set from the phone and the volume is good. in a newer phone the ringtone comes from the car and is too loud

Doesn’t it go down if you turn the volume down on the head unit while it’s ringing?

Should do - likewise any navigation announcements if you are using AndroidAuto/CarPlay

No, even if I set my phone to minimum media/ringtone volume, the volume is super high.

I don't use AndroidAuto - I drive on Google maps, and the radio in my T6 is basic - without a touchscreen.

With the phone connected and the head unit on ring your phone. While it's ringing adjust the volume on the head unit (not on the actual phone).

Like, volume knob? It only mutes the current call, the next one is loud again.
