RUST!

Hi, so I'm seeing this (rust) and I think from a bit or 'Googling' that it is possibly caused by the drivers door contacting the body.

It appears that VW fitted the buffer to stop this happening.. but as you can see I have rust!

Dies anyone know if a new buffer is the remedy here, does this buffer look squashed (shorter than when new)?

It is a bit hard to tell from the photos, but has the door dropped a little bit causing to to rub metal to metal, and just needs the hinge adjusted?

Sorry about the poor pics, no, door doesn't appear to have dropped, the shut lines / gaps look good as far as I can see.

I did a bit of research on this, but just wondering if anyone has seen same on their van and what solutions they've come up with.

Seems contact between door edge and body here is a thing, hence VW came up with a stick on bump stop in this location. Thinking I need a new one maybe?
