Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to just hide an Apple AirTag (or similar) in the van? You then don't need an expensive subscription and the AirTag is less than £50

Thats fine if the van is pinched and happens to be within bluetooth range of a suitable device during its journey out and at its final destination.

Mind you, none of them work once the vehicle is in a shipping container.

Also it's an established enough idea (used a lot for bicycles too) that folks will likely use the apps that look for "not my airtags" to check. A tracker doesn't broadcast like that. And if it's being nicked to order then they will have already checked for them on your drive when scouting out your security - an uncomfortable thought but one that needs to be considered.
