I'm currently considering buying the Ovano table:
And was surprised to see it just screws straight into the B pillar...
I know people often screw all types of things into vans/floors etc, and was wondering if there's any specific metals or processes that should be followed?
- Should the screw's/holes be covered in some form of anti rust spray/liquid?
- should specific metals be used to stop rust or chemical reactions? (Surely floor screws would be exposed to moisture underneath the van?)
Additional questions:
- Also would riv nuts not be a better approach in terms of strength and longevity of the thread your creating in the vans metal?
- What should be done with existing holes that are no longer used? Say you remove a fitting or leave a hole in the wrong place. Should you treat the holes and rubber bung? Or some form of weld or fill?
Cheers,
Rich
